Together with another US guest who, like me, is weight-challenged (hmm….), we have just returned from a fabulous Highland experience: Body Toolkit Conditioning – and can sing from the rooftops the huge benefits we both reaped, weight loss being just one of them.
Based in the stunningly beautiful Ardnamurchan Peninsula, Catriona Mather takes small groups and focuses on overall health, stress, vitality, and detoxing our bodies – less on punitive ‘boot camp’ style exercising each day! I was not sure that I could cope with 3 juices a day and soup in the evening, but, to my amazement, I never felt hungry.
Each morning, Catriona led us on a fabulous walk in nearby locations to die for - as well as stunning scenery, castle and lochs, you will see wildlife in abundance – the area is known for sea eagles, deer, red squirrels. Each day brought new delights. I cannot think of a nicer way to see Scotland in all its beauty and de-stressing at the same time! May/June is a lovely time to go as the rhododendrons are bursting into colour, gorse bushes are bright yellow, May (or Hawthorn as we call it in Scotland) is in full bloom, bluebells carpet the ancient oak woods native to the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, and, as a special bonus, the little lambs and ‘Heelan’ Coos have just calved… One day, Lisa and I took the amazingly beautlful Road to the Isles:
