By Car

The easiest way for you to plan your journey is to print out step-by-step instructions using either of the following route planner websites.

Under the heading ‘Travel’ click on ‘Route Planner’ – then fill in your departure point and arrival point at Pilrig House: 30 Pilrig House Close, Edinburgh EH6 5RF.

Both sites enable you to travel either by a course which includes places of interest that you would like to visit along the way, or via the most direct route. 

If you are travelling by car and have a car Sat-Nav systems: make sure you insert the correct postcode: EH6 5RF.

By Train

Edinburgh’s Waverley Station

Edinburgh is linked to the rest of the UK by an excellent rail network – you can travel directly form London, Glasgow, York, Newcastle, Manchester, and many other cities and towns.

Edinburgh’s Waverley Station is located just off Princes Street, and is just a 5-minute taxi trip to Pilrig House. The fare should cost £5-£6.

By Air

Edinburgh Turnhouse Airport

You can fly direct to Edinburgh from most UK cities, including, London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Dublin, Belfast. Pilrig House is around 12 miles from the airport. A taxi direct to our door will cost in the region of £20-£25, and take around 25 minutes.

Alternatively, take the airport shuttle bus service – buses run all day long & depart every 10 minutes or so from outside the main airport entrance. Disembark at the terminus point - Waverley Bridge (just off Princes St). Opposite is a taxi rank – from here, take a taxi to Pilrig House – it will take around 5 minutes & cost £5-£6.  Or, you can pre-book a door-to-door shuttle bus service. By Bus

St Andrews Bus and Coach Station, St Andrews Square, Edinburgh

From the bus station at St Andrews Square, you are a 5-minute taxi trip from Pilrig House. The fare will cost approx. £5-£6.
